Madhuri Dixit steps in Late Sridevi's role in Shiddat-Confirmed!

On Monday afternoon, Sridevi's daughter took to Instagram to announce that Madhuri Dixit has stepped into Sridevi's role. Janhvi shared a picture of the two actresses from the sets of a dance reality show and wrote, "Abhishek Varman's next film was very close to mom's heart ...Dad, Khushi and I are thankful to Madhuriji for now being a part of this beautiful film..."

Back in the 80s and 90s, the two actress were pitted against each other. When Madhuri Dixit rose to stardom with 1989 film Tezaab, Sridevi was at the peak of her career working with almost every leading hero back then. Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit were constantly being compared . Film magazines had a gala time pitting the dancing divas and brilliant performers up against each other but the two ladies never spoke about it in public. After Sridevi's demise, Madhuri was also among the first celebrity to visit the family in tough times, putting an end to all such rumours.

Finally Madhuri got a decent job offer thanks to Sridevi.

Sri's death will always hit hard. ALWAYS.. But it's good to see Madhuri get an offer too, one such as this film which seems like it'll be a good role. Hope it does well since Sri liked this film. :(

Would have preferred another actress in place of Madhuri, maybe Juhi Chawla or Vidya Balan.
