May be she was pulling his leg or something, or he was trying to pull her leg, not sure of the context here...but my 2 cents on their acting level - Ranveer is much better actor than Deepika !!

Deepika has only ever praised him as an actor. Not once has she ever put down the actor that he is.

Ranveer needs to realise that people take his words of jest seriously and also he needs to stop downplaying himself compared to Deepika, atleast with regards to acting. Stardom is another matter altogether and there his acceptance of her superior star power is appropriate.
