Among Muslims a marriage is considered legal only if conducted through Islamic rites. A Islamic wedding can happen only if both the bride and groom are Muslims. Thats why Muslim families insist on conversion of the person the child is marrying a person from another religion. The sort of marriages we see in Bollywood like Saif-Kareena/SRK-Gauri ie through Special Marriage Act are not considered legal as per Islam. Since these people are wealthy so they can ignore what the religion says. Mostly conversion is for namesake like Sharmila Tagore's conversion. I had a friend who did this so I am aware of these rules. After conversion there is some tokenism like not wearing bindi on part of the bride. The groom's family might call her by her Islamic name. But mostly these women continue to lead the lives they used to as Hindus. Generally there is no legal implication like name change(apart from taking husband's surname if they want).

I think it's well known and documented that in Islam a nikaah is valid between Muslims.
Conversion based on marriage is usually just a dikhawa. However there are people who convert without being pressurised and out of their own free will.
I know someone who converted to Islam after marrying in to a Muslim family and one of my aunt converted to Hinduism after marriage. Both out of their own free will.
There are so many white Muslims I work with male and female and none reverted due to love or marriage.

If shoiab family is so traditional than why they allow him to do acting and dancing ??

I don't think Dipika took care of the expenses of Shoaib's family while he was not working.. As it is, seeing Shoaib's family, I don't even think they have that much of expenses
