Cardiac arrest.

Accidental drowning can be through cardiac arrest or any other event

So Doctor wont write C arrest but accidental drowning in report

http://www.forensicpathologyonline.com/E-Book/asphyxia/drowning

Basically what it means is that just because term "accidental drowning" is used it does not mean cardiac arrest cannot occur.

Since I dont think alcohol was the cause as its unlikely she was so drunk...i think more chances of suffering this c arrest or some other cardiac event and then drowning.

Use of term accidental drowning in the report therefore does not rule out cardiac arrest.

Is it cardiac arrest before drowning or after? If the cause of death is drowning then it should rule out cardiac arrest. So... so confusing. If a person is consciously drowning then they will try to stay afloat besides she was in a not so deep bathtub so either she had a non fatal heart attack or she was heavily intoxicated or she fell into the bathtub. All of these can be answered by the autopsy.

basically what i concluded that dr will write accidental drowning in cases of both cardiac arrest happening first or alcohol being the cause...

so that is not a clue

since we do not have detailed report

and people saying she was not qa heavy drinker

i concluded cardiac arrest first.

Hippo,
If reports of her body showing high levels of intoxication is true, and the cause of death (accidental drowning) as in the certificate floating around is true, it is possible that she drowned first. Drowning causes water to enter lungs thereby leading to respiratory arrest. When someone suffers respiratory arrest, if CPR or other revival procedures are not done, it would lead to a cardiac arrest.

I think she simply drowned. If drowning was caused due to cardiac arrest that should be mentioned. All drowning in bath tub happens to ppl intoxicated with alcohol or drugs or both. They fell unconscious in it and thus drown, never even try to come out because of the state of mind. Now, it can be accident or homicide. 20% cases of bathtub drowning are homicide, but one can never tell.

You can always tell accidental or homicide because a murder attempt will have tell tale signs like grip on the person's shoulders or arms, signs of struggle or injuries. There is no way a person will go down without fighting.

At this moment the report says traces of alcohol. Can small amount of alcohol cause someone to pass out in the bathtub?

The only reason her husband is being probed is not because they suspect any foul play but to find out her state of mind before her passing. I think they want to rule out suicide.

I don't think it's Murder, that is why I said accidental as in slipping unconscious under influence of drugs and alcohol.
I don't believe only traces of alcohol, could be only because a lot of water entered her body.
If there were any drugs involved, they might not want to release this because she was a legendary actress.

Anything can cause accidental drowning. If someone slips and falls for any reason (cardiac arrest, drugs or alcohol, slippery floor, carelessness) and loses consciousness, they can drown accidentally. Since they are not conscious they do not have the ability to pull their head out of the water to breathe.
Eh. I personally am having a hard time seeing this as a mystery, nor do I have the stomach to delve into how/why she died. I just want to celebrate her career and solemnly move on.

Isn't that obvious she drowned after suffering a cardiac arrest her heart stopped which caused her to drown she was dead before she drowned. Drowning was the result of her death not the cause of it, it's the only logical explanation which fits the situation and the description we had recieved so far.
