because SLB is not a director...but an interior decorator...He has a few trick up his sleeves which he keeps on using...rinse, repeat...

Actors crying or ready to cry as in glassy eyes..

Giving weird looks to his actors...e.g Khilji..

Haathi ghoda paalki, palaces, curtains are staples..

Beautiful dances which go round and round...e.g...nagada...mastani...ghoomar..

agli movie mein bhi yahi sab milega..

I always say ...its not the actor's fault...if they look zoned out or act like jokers...its SLB's fault...he is a joke.

You know what I didn't realise in all of his films the heroine always seems to have teary eyes but the difference is Aish, Madhuri and others had "expressive eyes" DP I don't know with teary eyes she's standing there with no emotions.
