SLB is a hard task master undoubtedly but brings out the best in actors.
Why is Sonam at this point in her life and career taking a dig at SLB? She needs to move on.
I'd say Sonam has moved one. She's always referring to SLB as her mentor (even if I feel he's anything but when you see how SRK is with DP and Anushka or Karan with Alia), she's also one of the first celebs to always stand up for him when he's marred in controversies.
It was SLB who once said that "Sonam will never look as beautiful as he's made her in Saawariya..." who says that? And despite this, Sonam still considers her mentor and talks about him with respect. Note that in the interview above she didn't take any name. It was I who speculated that it must have been SLB.

SLB was fresh off many successes when he launched the pair (Devdas which was screened at Cannes and Black which was critically acclaimed) I don't think two starkids still wet behind the ears could have thrown their weight around.
SLB was hard on them and went as far as talking about an AD who exasperated him (I think there was story about a chandelier).

And Sonam had is dad already in this industry through which he got direct entry in Bollywood while Deepika made her way on her own. How I wish, Sonam's Dad was an ordinary man, she would have tried something of her calibre rather than wasting her time in acting which is far from her talent
Where are they today? Sure Deepika has got tremendous BO success by piggybacking on others and a Filmfare while Sonam has an average BO record, a Filmfare and a Special Mention at the National Award...
A beauty like Sonam was meant to become an actress, that girl is spunky, has a million dollar smile and brings life to the screen whereas Deepika didn't impress me in her last outings BM and PM in which she acted like a corpse.
Who wants to work with him? He got his "dream team" RSDP because he settled! No one wanted to be part of his movie be it Ranbir, Hrithik or SRK same with Katrina and Kareena...

What were Deepika's reviews already? BO is important but their primary work is as actors ; they should at least give commendable performances don't you think?

It's funny how no one mentions even Farah shouted on DP and made her cry during OSO once. Dp said that in her kwk debut .
Even kjo said it is an achievement that it was only once.

There is difference between a boss who can be deemed as severe and someone who is constantly lashing at you. It borders on harrasment on some cases.
SLB seems nastier than Farah and KJO when it comes to film making when he was in a lurch to find leads for Ram Leela no one came to rescue be it Hrithik, SRK, Ranbir or Salman because SLB as a perfectionnist tends to make unresonnable demands.
SLB being so "bad" led to Ranbir and Sonam becoming close on the sets. That might be why when they had a fallout, they didn't talk to each other for years as they betrayed each other's trust.
While DP has talked about crying on sets, Ranbir and Sonam have never really open up. I see it like situations you think you can't overcome and in the future you look back at it fondly in Deepika's case. Farah wasn't a "torturer" as they went back to work together and are in fact quite close.
Sonam is being praised all around for her role as Pari. People are loving it and some even prefer her performance over Radhika's.
I've still to watch it so I'm going with people's opinion.
The problem with Saawarya wasn't her acting. Sonam was actually one of the best thing about the movie. The movie was boring (non eventful), the editing was bad, the characters weren't written well... the movie was simply badly executed.
That SLB should find fault in Sonam for the flop when he was the senior and experienced person is ludicrous.
