AFAIK he was approached first.They turned to SRK later.

While he was approached for a mega film last year, he quoted an astronomical figure of Rs 40 crore. The film's director and producer noted names in the industry then went to a more bankable star, who showed interest, but unfortunately opted out of the film. The makers then went running back to the first actor, who then hiked his fee to please sit down for this Rs 60 crore.

How can you be sure that SRK was not approached first and then it went to Aamir and now it's back to SRK?
