Because most commercial movies are targeted at young men and these guys want to fantasize about some young glamorous looking female. Which is why the hero can be as old and ugly as can be and no one cares, but the heroine has to be young and beautiful 😲

Because we do not write stories about women in their 40s to be more than moms! Like they have no other identity! As an actress why would these amazing talents play moms on screen? How boring! Imagine the 50 something actors only playing dads on screen! 🤢

Yet Juhi is playing mother to Sonam in her next film! I am so pissed. I am happy she is doing a film with my Sona Mona but mother to her? Really? She is such an amazing actress! She is better than all the Khans and all the younger actresses! Sigh. Anyways Madhuri is coming back with Anil in Total Dhamaal which is pretty awesome!

I was cringing the other day when I saw pics of Aamir dancing with Fatima! I am like why why why! I can't watch Dangal anymore now! It's unbelievable that within a gap of two years Fatima goes from daughter to heroine! *cringe*

Also...we the audience needs to support them too. People have to see the interest to want to cast them. One of the reasons I have changed my profile pic from Sonam to Juhi.

Cuz women age like cheese and men age like fine wine. Some women are evergreen though and hence are successful in every age. 😉

Things have progressed now

At least Juhi is playing mom to Sonam not Anil

Not true..both men and women grow old...it is what humans do... that is a sexist thing to say. 🥱
My mother is 53 and still looks beautiful. it is not correct to behave as if only women age badly.👎🏼

Sure most know why.

Same reason why there are more younger actresses give roles in Bollywood compared to younger actors.

If it is a young actor they are somehow always related to someone in the industry or from wealthy families.

Each older bollywood actress looks better than their male actors who are their age. It's nothing but sexism in Bollywood and lack of good content and diverse audience.
