According to this forum, whatever my opinion/experience is, the whole Indian population has the same opinion. Well, where I live, men still don't like to do household chores, even if they know very well how to do it. Because they think that, it's still the primary responsibility of the women, to do cooking, cleaning, sweeping, laundry, and all other household work, even if she's a working women. Men will only do this type of work if there is no other choice.

Even in marriage, the groom's family still look for a girl, who can do jhaadu, poncha in their house. Basically, they are looking for a maid, not a bride. So it becomes necessary for the girls to teach all the household work and maid stuff. Though now, boys are also taught these things, but it is only for the sake of knowledge, not responsibility.
