@ TM - That's the case of this forum. 😆 Personally, I have watched all movies before I participated in their Haai Haai' maatam 😆 . Loved Padmaavat as well 😳

I can dig out posts of several Salman fans who did that. Though I am not going to do that as its against the rules now but if really wants it I can PM you.

Both Padmaavat and Udta Punjab hence benefited. For Dilwale disturbances didnt add on anywhere else where there was no disruption unlike Padmaavat where some places there was a no show but other places got a massive advantage due to the controversy.

LMAO. Do you really think Dilwale content deserved any better? How has Padmaavat sustained till now? LMAO
Oh yes and Udta Punjab was a blockbuster too?

Dilwale opening would have been better if not for the disturbances and WOM much better if not for the dirty tricks by SLB and Eros.
But Bajirao Mastani content got a LOT more than it deserved. Its content was as bad or as good as Dilwale. And I am saying this after watching both films as the TM wants.

This is hilarious and so SO apt for so many losers here to try so hard everyday ( and ultimately failing) to bring a movie down just because they can't stand an actor. Newsflash to them : literally nobody cares.😆

Controversy Factor - Padmaavat v Tiger Comparison
Saturday 03 February 2018 19.00 IST
Box Office India Trade Network

The controversy factor of Padmaavati can be seen in the figures below. these are numbers for cities which had a clear run and were little affected by protests and violence over the Fri - Thu period. There were issues in Gurgaon and Lucknow on day one (Thursday) but after it went clear.

The figures match or better the Tiger Zinda Hai numbers on Xmas week which pretty much tells how much hype was created as to match the Tiger Zinda Hai numbers on Xmas week is insane. This was simply impossible if the hype and controversy was not there. Actually when the trailer launched of Padmaavat it would be unthinkable for it to match Tiger Zinda which had a holiday week. Maybe a case could be made for Mumbai but definitely not North. The smaller the the center goes then Tiger Zinda Hai starts to lead as the media hype works less in smaller places. Places like Jalandhar and Amritsar are A centers but smaller compared to the rest on the list and these are the only ones where Tiger Zinda Hai has a comfortable lead.

The film may have not released at many places but these is no doubt that the controversy has pushed this film to a different level especially in the centers below which had a clear run. Below are the Fri - Thu collections in some cities of Padmaavat and Tiger Zinda Hai and they are like for like from the same cinemas.

Mumbai City

Padmavati - 17.24 crore

Tiger Zinda Hai - 14.62 crore

Thane

Padmaavat - 8.93 crore

Tiger Zinda Hai - 8.50 crore

Delhi city

Padmaavat - 14.44 crore

Tiger Zinda Hai - 14.45 crore

Noida

Padmaavat - 4.00 crore

Tiger Zinda Hai - 3.88 crore

Lucknow

Padmaavat - 2.74 crore

Tiger Zinda Hai - 2.72 crore

Gurgaon

Padmaavat - 3.52 crore

Tiger Zinda Hai - 3.38 crore

Jalandhar

Padmaavat - 83 lakhs

Tiger Zinda Hai - 96 lakhs

Amritsar

Padmaavat - 67 lakhs

Tiger Zinda Hai - 76 lakhs

I have seen those figures...In USA/Canada/Australia they are even better than Dangal. So your point is Padmaavat is a better film than even Dangal?

Coming to your point about being accepted...I never debated that. But you too have to accept that the controversy MASSIVELY contributed to the opening numbers which BOI has put up.

TheRager: Of course most of the credit goes to controversy but there is a successful trio Sanjay Deepika Ranveer as well who should get the rest of the credit. 24,25, 26, 27, 28 fine controversy ruled but after that? There is no stop to it.
If the audience is finding it better than Dangal I can't help it. Everybody's choice is different.

@PW: I agree. Also want to add..we must give some credit to Shahid irrespective of what his role was, how he acted or suited the part. Because in his place if it would have been some TV actor or Vicky Kaushal type then buzz would have been lesser.
