PADMAAVAT does make you think of real padmavati.

Despite some shortcomings, there is something in the movie that holds you.
There is a language of cinema that all cant understand. Only getting into depth and film studies students and feel it. Still happy for Ranveer, Shahid, Deepika.
All three did well.No doubt. Ratan singh was not supposed be a fierce king,So he was told to underplay.

The climax
it created the most impact..the slow motion, and that heavy rani sa background score was adding to the scene.

Amidst all the hullaballo about what was right and wrong

Do we realise that yes there was a such a day in that chittor fort in the 13 th century when the king of mewar lost and Rani padmavati and all had to commit jauhar.
Its not fake. Many historians have many archaelogical findings of the delhi sultanate rule in mewar and rani padmavati's jauhar.
Jauhar did exist in that period. Not just mewar only but other parts of North Indian dynasties too had this jauhar when attacked by invaders.

While watching the climax , i was taken back to think of what would have been their situation when the women were subjected to this situation. ITS NOT EASY TO KILL ONESELF.
THEY LOVED THEIR HUSBANDS AND DIDNT WANT TO BE ALIVE FOR PROVIDING PHYSICAL PLEASURE TO THE ARMY OF BEASTS.
The climax presentation may be dramatic in movie which might not be same as reality during that time but the emotions will be the same.

AS an audience i was compelled to think of that era. Thanks to sanjay bhansali who took out an important page from the page of history. A story of courage and sacrifice. After the movie ended i didnt think about the taran adarsh's padmaavat collections, the careers of the lead actors or activities of karni sena or the bollywood posts in india forums regarding the movie.

The only thought i felt was the pain rani padmavati would have felt for seeing her love rawal ratan sa killed and allaudin marching to occupy her. The film reminded the reality that such an incident did occur. It was not a made up story like ram leela or hum didl de chuke sanam.
These characters of rawal ratan singh, padmavati, alaudin, malik kafur, mehrunisa did exist.

I felt exactly the same. The way Khilji n his troops broke into the fort looked so realistic. It looked as if we were taken back to that day inside the fort. No wonder, people worship her. SLB threw light onto how Jauhar came into existence. I don't think Jauhar existed before the invasions in India. The enemies wud capture the women n use them as Sex slaves.

It is better to Die with dignity than Live as a Sex slave.

absolutely i felt as if that date from history is brought in front of our face in the form of celluloid. Yup jauhar started with those foreign invasions to capture territory and keeping slaves.
We can just imagine how would have rani padmavati and other queens went through.

Just visiting that fort in rajasthan can give u goosebumps and the climax of the film will come in front of our eyes. The soil of chiitor and its fort is the witness to that event when a beautiful love story between padmavati and rawal ratan singh came to an end due to allaudin khilji

U don't need personal experience to make a decision like this. If the only option available is death or Sex slavery, I wud choose death as such a life is worse than death itself. Maybe you choose the later. Which is why u think it is a joke.
