BO prediction for Padmaavat-koimoi

Box Office Predictions: The D-day is right at the corner. Amidst all the hype, rumors, speculations and controversies, Padmaavat is seeing a mega release on Thursday, 25th January. Before that, it would also be enjoying paid previews on Wednesday evening.

Clearly, all eyes are on the film which is making its way into theaters despite the plethora of threats and issues. The film's visibility has reached its peak and that's just perfect for its arrival as it would be tough to replicate this hype in future.

All of this means that Ranveer Singh and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are assured of their biggest opening ever on Thursday. This is how some of their major films have opened in the past:

Gunday 15.86 crore

Ram Leela 15.73 crore [Ranveer and Bhansali]

Bajirao Mastani 12.80 crore [Ranveer and Bhansali]

Dil Dhadakne Do 10.50 crore

Befikre 10.36 crore

The film carries the potential to actually open in the range of 25-30 crore, especially with Deepika Padukone as the leading lady who is, in fact, being seen in a Bollywood film more than two years after Bajirao Mastani. However, there are quite a few external factors (uncertain release, expected disruption of shows, audience fear) that may play spoilsport in the first couple of days at least.

As a result, one can't really be sure of any tentative range either at which the film will open. However, with the film's release expected at 4000 odd screens, an opening day of 20 crores should still be on the cards.
