Newton was moderately successful (semi hit) made what? just about 20cr. The reach was again very limited compared to Raees which again was semi hit but made 6 times it's amount...

Filmfare's always had such requirements for nominations criteria. It's just people just blame todays nominations when yesteryears were much horrible compared today

When a pathetic actor like Varun is nominated for a mediocre act they will be questioned.

Awards are for film business?

Still Newton was a successfull film and Rao's act was leagues better than those nominated.

Akki had already mentioned in an interview. He would tell the award shows hosts, they can keep the awards themselves. But they should pay him full money for performance. Probably, they accepted that. Now Akki got money, not bothered about award.
