Padmaavat: Did you notice Deepika Padukone's covered midriff in the Ghoomar song?
The song Ghoomar from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film Padmaavat has been on our lips for a long time. Featuring a gorgeous Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmini, the song received a great reception on the charts.
However, those miffed with the film raised objections against the historical authenticity of the song, including Deepika's exposed midriff in the music video, which they deemed inappropriate for her onscreen character.
Taking the issue into consideration, the CBFC asked the makers to remove the shots where her midriff was visible.
"The CBFC's Examining Committee asked the film's producersthe director was not present during the censor screeningto remove the shots where her stomach was visible. However such editing would have disturbed the smooth choreographic flow of the elegant dance number. The director preferred to conceal Deepika's belly through computer graphics, a source present at the film's CBFC screening had earlier told The Quint.
Well, looks like team Padmaavat has finally masked Deepika's midriff in the song using CGI.
