The very controversial Pahlaj Nihalani, who
has been ousted as CBFC chief, is now
looking forward to his upcoming
productions. According to a report in a
leading daily, Pahlaj told that he has two
outings in the pipeline, one of which will be
a sequel to his 1993 action-comedy
Aankhen.
He is also looking forward to work with top
actors of Bollywood such as Ranveer Singh,
Arjun Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor
and Ayushmann Khurrana.
'Ranveer and Arjun are No 1 on my wish-list.
I want them to play the leads in Aankhan
Chaar. They have great chemistry. With each
character playing a double role, we will see
two Ranveers and two Arjuns, along with a
chimpanzee," said Nihalani, who plans to
showcase two pairs of twins in the outing.
"Ranbir and Imran will also make an
excellent combination, as well as Ranbir and
Shahid [Kapoor] and Ayushmann [Khurrana]
and Rajkummar [Rao],'' he added.
The producer hopes to distinguish his
storyline to cater to the young audience.
"The subject will be completely different. It
should reflect current times. It should be
modern, keeping the trends and the youth's
preferences in mind. It will have Indian
values and sentiments at its core, but, will be
one that appeals to the youth," he said.
Talking about Julie 2's failure at the box-
office, he said, 'Julie 2 has taught me
valuable lessons. I have learned the market
trends."
Earlier during an interview with us, Pahlaj
talked about the decision of sacking him. He
had said, "I am not at all upset with it. 98%
of the film industry was happy with my
work, it was just 2% that are unhappy. But I
wish them all the best. And har kisi ke kaam
mein ache aur bure ki pehchaan hoti hai
(everyone gets criticized and praised for
their work). Let them enjoy and wish all
those producers who think I haven't done
good job. There has been no direct
communication with me at all. Nothing is my
hand, it is government's decision. I didn't
come here to be permanent. Whatever the
responsibilities they gave me, I did it with all
sincerity and entirety. My staff has
supported me and CBFC became corruption
free and online certification also became
transparent (under my leadership)."
