Karan Johar announces Janhvi and Ishaan's debut film Dhadak, Twitter says Nepotism Zindabad

Sometime ago Karan Johar took to Twitter and unveiled the first look posters of his upcoming film Dhadak, a remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat. The films marks the Bollywood debut of Shahid Kapoor's younger brother Ishaan Khatter and Sridevi's elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor. The posters featured Jaanhvi and Ishaan and they look like a dream together. In fact their chemistry on the poster itself looks quite natural and we can't wait to watch their romance on the big screen. But the Twitteratis have reacted extremely to the posters and instead of encouraging the kids, they are calling out Karan Johar for his nepotistic ways.

I understand Jhanvi ... but how is it Ishan's a star kid? Does anyone even know his parents? He is known as Shahid's step brother and Shahid himself is barely known as a star. :P Karan barely considers Shahid ... I doubt he'll consider Ishan.

It could have been anyone opposite Jhanvi.

But yeah this is only the start of "New Nepotism Bollywood All I see in the future is star kids doing movies.

Kangana did one thing right to mention nepotism on his show. I just spent some time reading the tweets about this movie on his page, and everyone is basically ranting at him for casting starkids🤣

No issues if he casts star kids.. but what did they do to prove their talent? Did Janhvi go to acting school? She did theatre before joining movies? Did she audition for this role along with other contenders? If no, then y should the janta not speak about the nepotism.. humare gale kyun utar rahe ho inko?
She might be good like Alia, but to deserve this big opportunity as her career start without proving herself.. 😕 Karan deserves all the backlash..

My biggest thing with star kids is that they get the opportunities handed to them. Not all of them of course. But, it would be more humbling if they struggled and had to find their way, despite who their family is. And I think all of the over exposure of them before their debut is so annoying.

The main issue is that star kids hardly struggle. They are offered such huge opportunities on a platter. Sure, they have a legacy or a name to carry forward but there are so many outsiders who are WAYY more talented and deserve a chance!

And another sad thing is that outsiders will be written off after one flop but star kids are given various opportunities
