THIS middle-aged filmmaker with an accent that rivals Shashi Tharoor's, has had no luck with his recent ventures. In the last couple of years, all he's earned is a reputation for sponging off his near and dear ones. And that, after he inherited a small fortune from a parent who entered into a rather enriching romantic alliance apparently, the luckless gent now believes he's entitled to some of that cold, hard cash too. Seems fitting: maternal love is of course a favourite theme in Bollywood films, and while a sentimental scriptwriter immortalised the line, "Mere paas maa hai, in the 70s, this guy's only adding the letter l'.
