Social media and the anonymity it offers has given people ample opportunity to protest about everything out there.. Phir chahe woh kisi ka dress ho, kisi ka chakkar ya koi movie.. People are always on the lookout for something offensive

which makes me wonder about the days when Social media was not rampant

Now think about Veer Zaara.. Personally, for me it is one of the most beautiful movie out there.. Flawless which could not have been made better in any which way.. Every frame, ever scene is a treat.. However, what do you think would have happened if the movie released today?

Veer left army for a Pak girl? How unpatriotic.. Ek tou larki k lie chora, woh bhi Pakistani? How could he? #Boycott movement by patriots

How can they show Pakistani court apologizing to Veer? Thats unconstitutional.. #boycott movement for the movie in Pakistan

How could Zara leave Pakistan and consider India as her home? #Boycott movement by Pakistan

How could Zara marry Veer in a hindu way.. She was supposed to be Muslim.. Thats against Islam #Boycott movement by Muslims

Can you think of other movies of good old times and their fates if they released in the current times?

One of my most favourite movie Pinjar would have been highly controversial if released now ...pata nahi release bhi hoti ki nahi

even those times protest was there for some movies.

for e.g. : Bombay faced protest from few people cause there a muslim girl marries a hindu boy, the reasoning posted by protesters was that it wudve been okay if it was a hindu girl marrying a muslim boy.

protest was due to

wrong depiction of violence starter

the whole Bombay riot was started due to killing of two daily wages wale worker known as kamathi worker by muslims in crawford market

the situation was tense already and the killing gave the needed excuse
