The fact is that the older actresses are not working.. And the older actresses have been offered Shah movies like Kajol and Aish.. But the truth is that these actresses do not excite the filmmakers or the audience for whatever reason.. So why would any Khan, be it Shah, or anyone else ask a director to cast an actress that likely would not be received well with the audience.. It is the audience which first needs to prove that they are accepting of the older actresses

In movies always Hero fall for the most beautiful girl not with an ordinary looks girl... most of the time in movie actress was support factor to the male actor or glam dolls... Well! I think it's depend more on the audience and the producer who decides the main lead actress of the film. I guess more on the film maker/producer.

I don't think SRK would mind working with the older actresses (from 90s) as he has already worked with Kajol in MNIK and Dilwale recently. :D
So it's all depend on the producer, why blame the actor for this.
