Farhan has no legal rights. The deal fell through In 2015 itself when Akhtars didn't give Arunima the required remuneration for the story. Google for the drama that ensued.

Arunima has signed a deal with DAR motion pictures now and therefore Kangana in consideration.

Indeed. (I should know better than to trust Pinkvilla, as PF suggested I googled - this is a project dropped by Farhan because he didn't the story was worth the amount requested). Still with this one at least we won't be subject to Kangana's creative writing "talents". She can only claim to be the director, actor, co-producer, editor, cinematographer, costume designer, stunt coordinator, and publicist. It will probably just be Anurima alone on the mountain so Kangna won't have to deal with any other egos and can have absolutely all the lines.

Now that Rajkumar Rao has dismissed the story he is to be cast in the "thriller" to be helmed by a not yet selected South director, Kangna won't need to figure out how to backtrack from this:

In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Kangana recently declared this shocking decision! She was quoted saying, I feel whatever I have done in the last 11 years has led me to it, it completes me, I am 30 now and I don't see myself working with another director after this. I will focus on being a filmmaker. I want to move on to the next phase which means that I will focus on my career as a filmmaker and if I act I will act in my film. Well, we do not know whether her fans will be able to digest this fact or not!
