BJP to ask poll panel, Censor to stay release of Padmavati

Denying that the BJP protest has anything to do with the upcoming election, he said the party was concerned that an attempt was made to distort the history and heritage of a state.

Dumb politicians and so called fanatics , they should know the difference between reel and real life. And what is the big deal with dancing , I mean it is not a sin . I wish they showed the same enthusiasm in the current social issues of Rajasthan and Maharashtra rather than fretting over a movie.

i knew they wud hav a problem with padmavati dancing, this is looking like a mess, i dont know wat slb will do now, i mean u cant hav the movie without khilji, he is the main antagonist, his lust for padmavati is the reason this whole story unfolds

Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and
Shahid Kapoors Padmavati is one of the
biggest releases of 2017. The film is not only
one of the most exciting, but also
anticipated ones of the year. However, it has
been embroiled in some or the other
controversy since its outset. And looks like
there is some more fresh trouble for
Padmavati as a leading political party has
demanded the Sanjay Leela Bhansali
directorial to be DELAYED. Yes, according to a
report in Hindustan Times, the Bharatiya
Janata Party (BJP) has made an appeal for
delaying the release of Padmavati to avoid
hurting the sentiments of the Kshatriya
community and to causing unnecessary
tension during the Gujarat elections.
In fact, the BJP state vice-president and
Kshatriya leader IK Jadeja has even wrote to
the Election Commission, the Central Board
of Film Certification and the Centre seeking a
temporary ban on Padmavati. As he revealed
to the national daily, "We are writing to the
ECI, CBFC and the Centre, seeking to stop the
film's release for a temporary period till the
issue is resolved. Apparently, people are
agitated with the fact that the film depicts a
romantic angle between Rani Padmavati
(Deepika Padukone) and Alauddin Khilji
(Ranveer Singh). The political party, the
Kshatriya community and the Rajputs are
dissatisfied with this factually incorrect
portrayal. However, Sanjay Leela Bhansali
and team Padmavati have mentioned that
these reports are absolutely baseless, that
too on numerous occasions. But looks like

In the meantime, while BJP has demanded a
stay on Padmavatis release, Gujarat
politician Shankersinh Vaghela has also
demanded to watch the movie in advance of
its release (December 1). They want a pre-
release viewing of the film with select Rajput
representatives to reduce the tension
amongst the masses, They just want
to prevent unnecessary tension ahead of the
polls. For those of you who don't
know, Gujarat will hold two phases of
