It's a similar reason why female celebrities have a lot more followers on instagram. Men follow them to get sexy bikini pics and cleavage shots and the like and women follow them for their outfits and designers bags and stuff like that.

So many fake accounts just to make it look like she has the biggest fan following!! 😆

For instagram, I think it makes a lot more sense to look at the number of likes they're getting or how many people are watching their videos because that shows how many people are actually engaged with the celebrity.

^Yeah, of course Deepu doesn't go buy followers on her own. Her PR would do things like that but celebrities are engaged with their PR and know what is happening and approve or disapprove of certain tactics.

When Deepika's posters and Ghoomar song were appreciated by fans and neutrals alike, they were coz of Deepika's immense popularity and not coz they were genuinely good. Even the neutrals were clubbed under her already large fanbase. Abhi DP isn't popular coz fake followers coz XYZ actresses are more popular coz PR coz Google trends 😆 bhai kehena kya chahte ho?

For example, Alia gets a LOT of interest. I think that makes sense since she's the youngest and younger people who are part of her fanbase also use things like instagram the most.

Alia is able to get a million likes on even most of her random pics while Deepika most of the time doesn't even get half of that even with more followers.
