Since 10 years of JWM, a lot of the cast is giving interviews about their experience of shooting the movie. I found their account of the shahid kareena angle so interesting.
SAUMYA TONDON (aka Roop)
Because of the entire Kareena-Shahid breakup angle, people on sets had said that the atmosphere was very quiet and nobody would crack jokes or anything?
I remember during those 25 days of my shoot schedule I would get really bored. So I went to a bookstore there and I picked up one book I felt I could read so I was so engrossed with the book all the time. I was too scared to really talk to them because they weren't talking to each other and I was nobody really to ask. In the beginning on the schedule, I didn't really feel anything of such sort but probably when they were shooting Mauja Hi Mauja which was the last schedule I did feel that there was MUCH more silence than there was in the beginning of the film
IMTIAZ ALI
So the famous Shahid - Kareena break-up happened during the last schedule of Jab We Met, did that affect the shoot in any way?
Imtiaz Ali: Actually, we all were extremely tense about how it will be done because there were some scenes left. And immediately after the breakup it is hard but Shahid and Kareena did it very professionally so there were no troubles.
Tarun aka Anshuman recalls the shooting days which were also the end of real-life romance between the two actors.
He said, "The tough time in their relationship did not affect the shooting, but I could see that things were a bit weird. When you have a couple on set, you expect them to be a little lovey-dovey and happy. There was an air of discomfort. However, I thought that they are serious actors and didn't let their personal equation affect their work. They did not even joke with each other''.
