Actor Sanjay Dutt has received a court notice
from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly taking a
swing at politician Mayawati, BSP chief back
in 2009 Lok Sabha elections during the
campaigning. The Kaante actor made a
remark on Mayawati by allegedly saying that
he would like to give a 'jaadu ki jhappi' to
Mayawati.
'Jaadu ki jhappi' is a popular dialogue from
Sanjay's movie Munna Bhai MBBS. As
reported by a leading publication, Dutt
passed this comment on Mayawati while
campaigning for a candidate from the
Samajwadi Party in Tikaitnagar area.
The Agneepath actor made this remark in
front of a huge public gathering. Hence,
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Sanjay
Yadav sent him a notice on Wednesday. The
Bhoomi actor is asked by the court to
appear before November 16.
The public meeting was video-graphed by
the district administration and a complaint
was filed against Sanjay Dutt by the Masauli
police station in-charge Vinay Misra.
The actor was last seen in Bhoomi this year.
Directed by Omung Kumar, the movie was a
flop at the box office. It was reported that as
the movie didn't work well, Dutt opted out
of Kumar's next titled The Good Maharaja.
He will be working in a movie which will be
produced by his close friend Ajay Devgn. The
untitled movie will be directed by Nishikant
Kamat and will also star Farhan Akhtar in the
lead. It is a remake of the Tamil black
comedy-action-crime drama Jigarthanda
(2014) which was written and directed by
Karthik Subbaraj.
