Our loves are back on the promotion trail... today they were in Jaipur to promote SD but also Chaav Laga. ❤️ Varun even got Anu to dance with him (after years back saying she wouldn't dance during promotions 😆😆). You can tell she's a bit shy and conscious at the start but once Varun reels her in, she looks like she's enjoying it. 😆

In this IV, they ask Varun how much of sewing he did whether he got injured and he laughs a little and says: I did 2 and a half months of stitching... and then says to Anu: No one's believing I actually worked hard

Varun says that he has enjoyed his 10-film journey and feels responsible towards entertaining his audience. He wants to do roles people wouldn't usually imagine him in and at the same time step up the game now that platforms like Amazon, Netflix are providing such great content.

Anushka is grateful for her opportunities and has worked hard and honestly. She doesn't think of her brand etc - that's for people to think.

Varun says Anushka is "simple" and "imaandaar" - she is honest in acting, she is very simple in her choices, no baggage, pleasant temperament. 😊

The interviewer calls Varun a superstar and Varun says that he feels the media throws these words around too much - he's not a superstar. Anushka butts in: Varun is so popular with the kids. Her nieces are crazy for him - her cousin sisters keep asking her to help them meet him. 😆😆

Varun says superstars are people like Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt - he doesn't have that mass following that he saw them have when he was growing up.

Again the interviewer talks about them being stars and taking up a role that looks like it belongs in an "art house film" 😆

Anu: I think stars should be the ones doing these kind of films. But the message and reach of the film is of a very high level and every house will be able to relate to it.

Varun: The writers and team have presented the message as not in your face. It's not a propaganda film, we're not selling anything. We want to show a concept. I want everyone to see the film because it's entertaining. 😃

Some films carry a positive vibe as soon as they are announced. Sui Dhaaga Made In India is one such flick that created excitement ever since it came to light that this film is all set to go on floors. The casting seemed interesting. It is Varun Dhawan's first film with this esteemed production house while his pairing with Anushka Sharma seemed exciting. The numerous on location stills added to the buzz. Then last week, the makers along with Varun and Anushka embarked on a unique logo reveal exercise wherein they reached out to local artisans and craftsmen from across the length and breadth of the country to create the logo of the film in their unique stitching styles.

In fact, it won't be wrong to state that Sui Dhaaga Made In India is in the zone of the 2016 blockbuster Dangal, starring Aamir Khan. Both films have a lot of similarities. Dangal, just like Sui Dhaaga Made In India, was set in small town India and emphasized on the fact that one can work wonders if they refuse to give up and make good use of the limited resources available. In Dangal, Aamir Khan shed his superstar image while in the YRF flick, Varun Dhawan seems to have done the same. At least from the trailer, it is evident that he looks every inch a small town resident. One forgets that this is the same Varun who played the larger than life hero in Judwaa 2 last year and in many other films before. Dangal didn't require the crutches of a song with a hook line or a reworked version of a classic track to generate excitement. The music of Sui Dhaaga Made In India too is expected to be true to the film. In fact, it's composed by Anu Malik, who was praised for his soulful album in his last film with YRF, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, which was also directed by Sharat Katariya. And finally,Dangal's trailer had met with unanimous response all over and Sui Dhaaga Made In India's trailer also follows suit.
Dangal went on to collect Rs. 387.38 crore and is the biggest Bollywood grosser ever. Sui Dhaaga Made In India obviously won't earn so much but is surely expected to be a big hit, looking at the content, simple execution and response to the trailer. Often, it's said that films with substance and soul fail to get a wider reach and gets restricted to urban areas. ButDangal had worked pan-India and Sui Dhaaga Made In India can also be the next qualitative mass entertainer!
