She couldn't have done a good job in Tip tip. Raveena is so hot in that song. Raveena would've done something else to showcase her sensual personality, I don't think they would be vying for the same kind of roles.

Even Madhuri was big star at that time but if Divya kept doing well, then she would probably take Madhuri's place because by looking at Divya's filmography, it looks like she would be the next Sridevi, her movies in BW were only released in 1992-1993 and within 2 years, she had 13 movies released during that time and most of them were hit and superhit which was incredible, even actors at that time couldn't get that much of success like that, so Madhuri's number one position would've probably affected because if a newcomer suddenly does very well, then senior actress career can be affected, look at Rani and Preity, they were big star when DP and Kat entered in BW but as soon as DP and Kat started to rise, both Rani and Preity's career started to sink, so same situation could've happen in here if Divya was alive. Kajol's career would probably affected too because she replaced Divya in DDLJ and Hulchul which Divya was the first choice of these movies and DDLJ made Kajol a big star, if Divya was alive, then Kajol would probably not get the opportunity to create her chemistry with SRK because more producers and directors would cast SRK and Divya on more movies after DDLJ's success.

none of them...the shelf life of the actresses is short and that is why their is always difficult to find good actresses...so I don't think it would have mattered...but Divya was such a sweet girl...such a precious life wasted😒

They starred together in Kshatriya (1993) - in which they played basically the same role of "love interest". They were also both signed for Parampara (1993) - again playing basically the same role.

Raveena replaced her in Mohra. Divya was also set to do Darr, which was also offered to Raveena.

So it's CLEAR they were vying for the same roles.

In the early 90s all the young actresses were interchangeable and all fighting over the same roles. Whether Kajol or Karisma or Pooja or Divya or Raveena or Ayesha or Tabu or Manisha or Urmila.

All pretty much playing the young virgin college girl thing. Only 3-4 years into their careers in mid-90s did they get a chance to really act.

This is not true. Only Deewana and Shola Aur Shabnam were hits. The rest were either flops or average. But she was appreciated highly in films like Dil Ka Kya Kasoor and Dil Aashna Hai. As well as becoming a super star with Saat Samundar - but those films were not hits.

Even Sridevi barely had 2 or 3 hits in the entire 90s decade. She has the poorest hit:flop ratio. 😉
