Most ICONIC character of the epic Mahabharata?

Anyways, my personal favorites are Karn, Gandhari & Ashwatthma!

Karna without any doubt. Can never get enough of him .

and Devi Gandhari among females!

I love some other characters too.

Btw, I hate Pandavas (baring Sahdev) & Kunti the most. 🤢 I'm not fond of Draupadi and Drona either. 😡

Karn: he was a gray character unlike the others who were either extremely righteous or the kther way round.
His emotions were raw and his life was driven mostly by the abuses hurled at him for being a 'soot putra'. He had the passion in him to be the best and he indeed was better than Arjun in war craft. He was a relatable charachter. For him the Duryodhan was not only a Karauva but his best friend who gave him his due respect when all his life he was looked down upon. His inner turmoil when he realises that he indeed is a royal blood but was diswoned by mother to protect her pride and honour makes me feel so badly for Karn.
His inner rage to avenge Draupadi for her bitter words towards him and he called her 'a vaishya because she has five husbands' before the disrobing takes place. His remorse for Dusshashan and Duryodhan's action and his words to Kunti during the war that she will have 5 sons nontheless eveb after the war (hinting that either it will be him or Arjun who will bite the dust).

I love everything about this character.

And, after Karna it has to be Pitamah.
He supported Pandavas even after being on the opposite side. He himself hinted about his weakness and hence Shikhandin was called to end his life.

There is a legend that Ashwatthama is indeed alive as he was cursed by Lord krishna to roam the corners of earth till the end of time for his cruel act after the war ended. And, his mani was also taken away by Lord Krishna.

Unlike the other immortals in mythology, he is the only one who was cursed with immortality.

Ashwatthama is the most underrated & undervalued warrior/character of MB. He doesn't get much credit for his contribution to the epic. Most of the people who've never read authentic Mahabharata versions, they're not aware of the characteristics of Ashwtthama. They've a wrong perception about him & believe the crap Star Plus showed to them.
