Varun Deepika will actually look good together. I want to see them onscreen. Even if she is a year older than him then thats fine. If younger girls can be paired opposite actors 20+ years older than them then why not this

Coming to VD-Piku, don't know. It's one of those jodis where unless I see them on screen, I can't say how they would look together.

I think jodis have a lot to do with energies. DP and Varun can have good chemistry if Varun plays an immature, funny guy and DP plays a teekhi mirchi.

So what if the actress looks older? Jodis should have chemistry. If BW can pair girls with 40+ guys, I don't see how pairing people where the girl is barely 5 years older is a problem.

Varun Dhawan to work with Deepika Padukone in Shoojit Sircar's next? The filmmaker responds

Varun Dhawan has signed his next film with Shoojit Sircar.

Shoojit Sircar is known for his slice-of-life films, and after the success of his last film Piku, expectations are high from his next directorial venture. And it was only recently that he announced his next big project with Varun Dhawan.

Titled October, the film will star Varun in the lead. Talkiing about the film, Sircar told Mid-Day, "October is an unusual slice-of-life story yet again. Like my previous work, this one, too, is an experiment. We are setting it in Delhi because that's a world I understand well. It's a coming-of-age story and completely character-driven."

It is for the first time that Shoojit has collaborated with Varun. Apart from Badlapur, Varun has worked mostly in masala potboilers, but Shoojit is confident that this collaboration would work in their favour.

"I'm glad we have an actor like Varun Dhawan on board. He is dynamic and a sucker for trying new things. Such flexible artistes add value to the plot. It is an unlikely story peppered with refreshing elements. I wouldn't call it a romantic film, it's a film about love," added the filmmaker.

Ever since the news of the project came out, buzz has it that Shoojit has yet againj roped in Deepika Padukone as the female lead in the film. However, the filmmaker clarified, "The female cast is yet to be locked in."

^^ well Shoojit's statement doesn't clear much air, so lets see.
