Box-office needed 'Toilet...' to break free from constipation: Twinkle

Writer, film producer and former actress Twinkle Khanna has lauded her husband and National Award-winning actor Akshay Kumars latest entertainer "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha", saying the Bollywood box-office needed it to break free from constipation.

"Toilet: Ek Prem Katha", which released last week, collected over Rs 13 crore on its opening day.

"So even the box office needed this Toilet eventually to break free from its constipation -- 'Toilet: Ek Prem Kath'. Hit Hit Hooray," tweeted Twinkle, who is known on social media as Mrs Funnybones.

Twinkle's post hinted at the lukewarm performance of films like "Jagga Jasoos" and superstar Shah Rukh Khan's "Jab Harry Met Sejal".

"Toilet: Ek Prem Katha" is in support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan to improve sanitation conditions in the country, with an emphasis on the eradication of open defecation, especially in rural areas.

It also features Bhumi Pednekar and Anupam Kher in key roles.

Where is she insulting Tubelight or JJ or JHMS??
She is talking about the current state of box office before Toilet released. That is the talk of trade, and not potshots at these movies.

But everyone used to make fun of Akshay cause he used to do so many movies in a year and all of them used to be average or flop,some Sallu and Srk fans used to make fun of him.Now Akki ki bhari.Not his fan though

i was ref to these lines which i did nt like.
used to like mrsfunnybones..
bt then she started feeling too much self important n preachy..
n now she is regularly tweeting promotions of akki's movies..
well ya its alright for a wife to promote her hubby bt taking digs
in name of wit to other stars who are struggling box office wise is
nt so cool ..or is it?times change any sec..todays hit becomes tm's shit
so why do dum dum diga diga needlessly ?each should do their work
silently without downing the others is my humble opinion..
