All SRK needs to do is, pick a good scripts which have universal appeal and for sure he will back to deliver hits. Also stop doing favours on his friends by picking their crappy scripts lol.

Baby was not a superhit, Niether Rustom nor Airlift made as much as either Dilwale or Raaes, so it is not Akki is suddenly a bigger star than SRK, or Indians have started loving Akki more than SRK. It is just that Akki is doing smart business by making controlled budget movies, while SRK's star power does ensure his movie open big(compared to other mortals), thier WOM is not enough to ensure huge hits given the budget. A movie like FAN(called niche by SRK himself), should have been a superhit going by its 85crore collection but was flop because if SRK knew it would cater only a certain segment of audience, he should have controlled the budget.
And I am not just talking about great content, but also entertainment quotient which makes mass flock. Film can be crap technically but if it is entertaining people will still watch it. SRK movies in long time have lacked the entertaining quotient for the massy audience. Even Raaes despite being a massy flick and a well made entertaining movie, still was not upto the level of dialogue baazi and comic relief a big blockbuster deserves.
So it is not SRK being rejected by Indians, opening of his movies show it, but it is his movies being rejected because they dont really have mass appeal/PAN India appeal nowadays.
