I dont support anyone refunding money to the distributors. There might be a minimum profit agreement in the contracts, just return that marginal amount and be happy. This is like baby-feeding the Distributors for taking risks. If one cannot accept loss, one shouldn't do business in the first place.

SRK started this with Dilwale. Very wrong decision. 😕 Nobody should have done this and this way Distributors would refuse to buy movies at this high rate, let them negotiate and bring the cost down, then may be industry would have some profit also. 🥱

why would SRK opt for being human? 😕

This is in a way a dangerous precedent. You are basically bribing the distributors to do legitimate business with you, so that they will distribute the next movie that comes
Salman and srk can survive that way maybe.

But what about small movies? It is anyway difficult for them to release a movie , now to set aside the legitimate money they earned from distributors when the movie flops will kill them.
Bw is stagnated already with nonsense star kids being the only ones able to afford the lifestyle and hustle anymore. This will kill the industry completely.

How and why are Bollywood movies becoming so over budgeted? Almost all the major films now require 100cr+ to recover costs. And to top it all, they spend so much money on promotions.

This is one of the reasons why films are underperforming. Until and unless the WOM is exceptionally good (like for Baahubali and Dangal), this would continue.

The budget is simply getting out of hands...all the big movies can't keep doing 200-300crrs. Cut down in stars pay, promotions etc. Let wom do the talking.
