After 2 decades in the Bollywood industry,
Akshay Kumar is rightfully touted as one of
the most bankable stars in the movie
industry. Age is just a number for the actor
who is seen in more than 3-4 movies every
year, all making a positive impact on the
audience.
But according to a leading daily, when
Akshay was asked if he finally thought that
he was getting his due as an actor, he
replied, "I still haven't got my due as an
actor from the industry, I just got the
National Award."
On receiving the Padma Shri, Akshay said,
"That is recognition from the government,
not the industry."
Talking about his long standing association
with his producers, the actor revealed, "I'm
friends with every producer and director I
work with. Our association is not limited to
the films we're doing that point in time.
There are directors with whom I have had
three flops, yet I have trusted them with the
fourth film. A lot of people didn't give up on
me, so I don't give up on the director if a
film doesn't work."
On detaching himself from the box-office of
his movies yet taking off to some place
before his movie releases, Akshay stated,
"Well, anyone would be nervous, but I'm
lucky that I get to experience it three-four
times a year. I feel less nervous than those
who have only one film a year because then,
the pressure is more. At the most, I'll be sad
till the weekend. Also, it's not that I want to
vanish when my film releases, as some
sections of the media report. For example,
I've taken a 15-day break from the schedule
of Gold in London, to promote Toilet: Ek
Prem Katha. Once this film releases, I'll return
and resume shooting as people are waiting
for me there."
Meanwhile, Akshay's next Toilet: Ek Prem
Katha which is directed by Shree Narayan
Singh and also stars Bhumi Pednekar is
slated to release on August 11, 2017.

So he admits that the NA and Padmashri was worthless and people who know the truth about how he got them dont respect him.

Come on! I love akki and all his films, but that national award was surely not deserving! Manoj bajpyae deserved it 10 times more for his role in aligrah. Yeah, akshay is a superstar and deserves recognition for making content filled/massy films from the industry and public alike, but he is not that great or distinguished in acting alone to warrant any such recognition.

Ever since he has suggested that we should be taxed more I genuinely don't like this guy anymore. Then urges everyone to get his movie tax free. Imagine the hypocricy. God please don't let him get his dues or he will come up with more such ridiculous ideas.
