Anyways why does BW get inspired by real life event but change the ethnicity. 2 recent examples are , this one Simran ,and Airlift. Sandeep Kaur who is a Sikhni and on whom this movie is based on is changed into Gujarati. Whereas in Airlift , main character is changed from Mallu to Sikh/Punjabi. Why? Is it to introduce more stereotypical things in the plot like Gujjus are dorky hilarious, or Sikh are manly helpful types. I understand it isn't a biographical movie, like Neerja but still the intention of changing the ethnic group is unclear.

Because it is not a legit biopic on Sandeep Kaur. Praful shares similar inclinations but the graph is all together different.

Hansal is more comfortable with Gujarati milieu than Punjabi. Hence the decision.

Hansal and Kangana maintain that this film shows another side of NRIs who function at the grass-root level. People will see a more realistic version of their lives and aspirations - not the stately homes of the Raichands from Dharma productions. 🥱

As ImagineMe said, it's not a biopic on Sandeep. While the incidents are inspired from Sandeep's life, the character itself is quite different. Kangana has said this is light-hearted movie, so seems like it's going to be a sanitised version and have a much happier ending than what happened in the real case.

No idea why they changed the ethnicity in Airlift. Not surprising though.

Haha this is cute!! Will definitely watch it, plus it's shot in my city I think, Hindi films are rarely shot here.

Okay. Another mini criticism after watching the trailer few times, the music could have been better. And I don't like that the same song plays in the whole trailer.

BUT. I absolutely love the intense scenes after "Lut gayi" and then when she goes "phat gayi samir,,,," UGH. LOVE the intensity there! The second half is going to be banging I feel like. And I don't mind the little drawbacks in the trailer here and there because I feel a sense of the real and solid story through what little I can see in the trailer and as usual Kang delivers in her role, so I will for sure love it! September, Come sooner!

Is it not legit biopic !! Only gambling and stealing is common .

I wish they had shown the darker side in the trailer a bit more. But then, who likes darker side?

This is year of small movies and hope Simran does the trick for Kangu this year. She deserves success.
