Ajay Devgn on the failure of Shah Rukh Khan's Jab Harry Met Sejal and Salman Khan's Tubelight: Fans are the ones who make a film work, listen to them!
Ajay and Emraan, too, have had certain films that had quite a high pre-release buzz, which failed to translate into box-office numbers.

We were totally blown away by the action-packed trailer of Baadshaho. The heist film is set in the '70s, against the backdrop of the Emergency period, to be precise, and has an ensemble cast that includes the likes of Emraan Hashmi, Ajay Devgn, Ileana D'Cruz, Sanjay Tiwari, Vidyut Jammwal and Esha Gupta in lead roles, with Sharad Kelkar and Sunny Leone in special appearances. The main cast, along with the director, Milan Luthria, was present at the trailer launch event today. People present there were certainly impressed by the fierce trailer, powered by kickass stunts, hot scenes, and of course Milan Luthria's trademark massy dialogues. But, despite the positive vibes, a reminder of the pall of gloom that seems to have settled on the box-office, hung low. With the sluggish performance of the Shah Rukh Khan film, Jab Harry Met Sejal, over the weekend, and the debacle of Salman Khan's Tubelight, the trade is rather disappointed. Ajay and Emraan, too, have had certain films that had quite a high pre-release buzz, which failed to translate into box-office numbers. Ajay's last release, Shivaay, had failed to make an impact on the box office, nor did it impress the critics much.
So, when, at the event, Ajay was reminded of the recent failure of big films and asked if he thinks fans' opinion should be considered while making films, he said, "I think they are the ones who make the film work. Sometimes they tell us, You should not be doing this or why did you do this.' We should listen to them because they really love you. They really know what they want from you, so they should be considered always. Also Read: Baadshaho trailer: Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi and Vidyut Jammwal's film is reminiscent of a '90s potboiler
Well, let us see if Ajay has actually listened to his fans and is in mood to deliver an all rounder entertainer with Baadshaho, and also with Golmaal Again. Baadshaho opens in theaters on September 1.
