I don't understand why Raees is called a mindless or useless movie. It was good. I think if it had Irfan Khan etc in the lead, it would have been hailed as a gem or something. Just because it's Shahrukh playing a crime lord, it must be garbage. It wasn't the best piece of cinema ever, but it was good.

Just like Ek tha Tiger wasn't the best movie ever but it was enjoyable. Frankly, there are better action movies than that, only Salman's stardom sold that and his other movies. So, I could maybe agree that SRK's stardom is somewhere affected and that shows. But he is doing different and more interesting movies. This can't be taken away from him.

OT: While reading some JHMS reviews, I was thinking the same point about Imtiaz's movies. Most of them have a slow or dragged second half. JWM, Love Aaj Kal (Especially), Rockstar. Haven't watched Highway and Tamasha, so don't know about them. But it's how his movies are. Not unique to JHMS. People may still like the movie.

Khan fan wars, hoping for most hated actor/actress's movie to flop have been going on since forever in this forum. Fans of the actor/actress find it disgusting but others rejoice, celebrate. Nothing new happening now.

Saw one SRK fan in train who was watching Raees on his phone two days after movie released. So why blame non-fans only. It can very well be someone who likes SRK who leaked the movie parts.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but I think that it was the hype of the movie that eventually created the downfall. After so much of propogation people went with too much expectations and came back disappointed. Maybe..! If it wasn't so hyped up maybe they would have gone to njoy a routine mindless romcom and come back happy. I agree about the social media though. People just enjoy trolling celebs. Somehow makes them feel more important! Don't know about the fan wars at all, all khans are the same. Their time is over. They should shift to movies with substance only. Maybe a film in 1 or 3 years will create more of an impact

No way.

ADHM > JHMS.

ADHM lacks a good script..it lacks a lot of things but it's entertaining nonetheless. A lot of brownie points for the awesome music. I guess that's just a KJo thing..but JHMS was a snoozefest to say the least. And, I say this as a fan of SRK and Anushka. The film was a waste of time. I literally was on the verge of falling asleep in the second half. The first half was alright, but the second half really tests your patience.

I also think Ranbir+Anushka had way more chemistry than Anushka+SRK. SRK and Anushka were not clicking much for me in this one. KJo may be a silly director but he knows how to cater to his audience. He knows how to entertain even if your mind boggles at a random cancer track. Imtiaz on the other hand is some pseudo intellectual who tries way too hard in providing these meaningful films but just doesn't know how to. His threshold is Rockstar at most as a filmmaker...beyond that he's a failure.

I agree with your post. JHMS was like far far better than ADHM. Also acting wise it was much better. The first part of the movie was great.

btw I don't agree JHMS being better than ADHM. story wise both are beloe average, poorly made movies. But ADHM had blockbuster music, Channa Mereya is a gem which will remain forever.
