Mubarakan Has A Decent Second Monday

Mubarakan did a decent number on its second Monday as its collections were very close to Sunday. It was a holiday for Raksha Bandhan but still it was a good result to be higher than Saturday and Friday. The film has found some appreciation in some areas but due to the initial the film has not really been able to collect numbers. It is best in places like Central India and Gujarat which is rare for a primarily North Indian film and that is what kept collections on the lower side. Mubarakan is sure to go over 50 crore nett which is a decent number considering the start it had but not for the film itself. The collections of Mubarakan till date are as follows

First Week - 35,00,00,000 apprx

Friday - 1,00,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 2,00,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 3,00,00,000 apprx

Monday - 2,75,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 43,75,00,000

It's not the first time. Jungle Book benefited because of FAN's underperformance. BM benefited by clashing with Dilwale. Audience is ready to give any better movie a chance over an SRK movie because he's churning out craps after craps. No wonder every Tom, Dick and Harry wants to clash with him.

I think after success of Mubarkan ..we can come to one conclusion.

When Hippo presents a review of a movie and give it thumbs up then it delivers at box office as well. I can gauge where a movie is heading and if it is likely to appeal or not.

Here I noticed that non-Khan movies generally in US attract less crowd. Movie of Govinda etc does not even run. However I noticed that afternoon show of Mubarakan even is US was drawing 20+ people. Add to it that I liked it, I therefore came to the conclusion that this has some merit.

Ok watched it today, and I was so surprised to see 90% occupancy for a 2 week old film during night show on a weekday 😲

Its an entertaining comedy of errors sort of family film with some good actors, locations, nice designer costumes and quite a few fun gags.

Anil kapoor is undoubtedly the star of the film, followed by Ratan pathak shah & pawan malhotra. Arjun is one actor who despite doing a double managed to get overshadowed by almost every other actor and that to for 2nd time (he also had a double role in a film called Aurangzeb) he's good as Karan in certain parts but screechy AF as Charan...

And Ileana looks so pretty in the film, I am surprised that she had a meaty role her character was fun & the girl has a remarkable screen presence. Loved her scenes with Ratna & Anil 😆

Music was ok types.

Its a good one time watch although it gets too loud at times but its pretty enjoyable 😆 the whole theatre was laughing throughout...
