good for you..

I found it really boring, me and hubby felt like walking out of the theater 30 minutes into the movie..and this is when we both really like Ranbir... it was a disaster in my opinion...

Here's my take. Contains spoilers.
Its difficult to talk about a film like JJ. I mean how do u review a film that is a musical about a stuttering sleuth in search of his father and trying to solve world problems? It sounds confusing and I can understand the polarizing views of people. Credit to Basu for making a film that is new, entertaining and endearing. It could have gone horribly wrong but Basu the genius he is, pulls it together with little hiccups here and there and makes it worth watching. Ranbir plays Jagga with so much conviction, his stuttering is so real as if he was born with it. His expressions and eyes convey everything. The bond between Jagga and his dad is one of the best father-son bonding I've seen in films. His friendship with Shruti is cute and refreshing without unnecesary romance and mush. The film is as much about Jagga's search for his foster father as it is about solving crimes. The begining drags a bit esp where Shruti is narrating the world of Jagga to the kids, clocktower murder could have been condensed, and the first half could have been more coherent. But the film picks momentum after intermission and I loved the second half more. The climax was long but an amazing ride. All the loose ends were tied nicely. My fav was Jagga meeting his dad in African desert, Bagchi trying to shoot him and Jagga's stuttering that revealed his identity and saved him was really done well. Ending had a nice twist too. I want to see more of two-headed Bashir Alexander aka Nawaz.

Coming to actors, Ranbir yet again delivers a brilliant performance. One of his best for sure. But for me the surprise was Katrina, she was superb as the goofy, bad lucky, charming Shruti. Katty does have good comic timing and she is good in action too. Supporting cast equally good. The amazing Saswata, what an actor, a scene stealer. Rajatava and Shukla were competent as well.

Its a film that can be best experienced in the theaters, it deserves a big screen watch. Its an experience that just cant be summed in words.
Waiting for sequel.

I don't know about that..but honestly I never feel like walking out of the theater but I did for this one..

We couldn't understand what was going on..like I said in the JJ movie thread..maybe I don't have the creative samajh for this kind of cinema...it was a torture for us...

JJ is a well made movie... After coming out of the theatres I felt as if I had watched an Aamir Khan film. That's saying a lot. The crowd that was in the theatre... I see such crowd only for Aamir's films. So many families with little kids. I was with my nephew and cousins too who are under the age of 6! (It requires alot of patience to take them)
Now coming to the film... It was amazing...an experience...we all were a part of Jagga's mission..not just Shruti. I didn't realise there are 29 songs in the film. It felt as if they were just dialogues. So the music didn't bother me...infact it amused my cousin..who's actually trying to talk like Jagga now 😆 . The determination and intelligence of Jagga is enviable. Though Jagga looked too old to be among that age group of kids in the hostel. Maybe they could've had those kids from a higher age group...but it's really not a problem..just an observation. Shruti 😆 Damn if that character wouldn't have been in the film...it would've been very dull. Her goof-ups...clumsiness..is hilarious yet endearing. Her backstory with Akash was revealed well...if only Basu focused on doing the same thing with Bagchi's backstory!
My nephew loved all the animals in the film...and actually shouted when they were riding the Ostrich's back.
If you've loved APKGK...then this one should not be missed. It took me back to those days and made me root for Jagga...as I did for Prem. Another thing each and every frame was beautiful. One thing I noticed was that the technique that Jagga uses with the pumpkin...the way he throws them at those cars...reminded me of Baahubali...as I saw that trick there.

One complaint I'll have is... This film had the potential to be a superhit...if only they could've controlled the budget! I understand that the fim required lots of efforts and time... 4 years is not that... If it wasn't constantly delayed...the budget would've been under control.

As for performances... I don't particularly notice such things... I just like the film and everyone in it.
