Atleast she didn't give it a 0. Most films are stuck between 2 and 3. 😛

She reminds me of a dreaded school teacher who had strict marking standards... aka Kanjoos teacher. 😳

This film is actually playing at my very close by theater that's surprising as they hardly play bollywood movies here mostly Khans and big budget movies plays around here.

Will watch it tomorrow for sure as the theater is close by

Coming back after watching the movie. SPOILERS AHEAD.

What a heart-wrenching and hard-hitting but a beautifully woven movie. Basically zooms more on the mother-daughter relationship, but also keeping the rape case relevant along side. It was a really a feeling moment, when the culprits are acquitted of the charges, and the parents are helpless. Your thoughts run back to all the victims who go through it (Nirbhaya), and you get to understand just an iota of what they actually go through. You hear it, you flip the channel and move on. But each day passes as a living hell for them.

Everyone was outstanding, esp. Sri. She was terrific and so natural. When she is informed about the physical abuse, her reaction gives you goosebumps. She lets it all out.

Nawaz-ud-Din was the comic relief. There are some moments when the movie loses its grip but he holds it tight.

Sajal, I always knew she is going to give the best. She is fantastic.

Adnan was great in whatever he was asked to do. Akshay is such an amazing actor but wasn't used to it's absolute potential sadly.

But the movie has its flaws too. The biggest laidback was it unnecessarily dragged and slow. In result, the screenplay absolutely loses it's grip. Even in the distressed times you prefer watching the invisible roof of the theatre in the dark.

Plus, some unrealistic factors. Sri plays a Biology teacher and the way she handles everything from disabling to cameras to not leaving prints or a single proof that even the Policeman is flabbergasted, but you can pass it off thinking it's a movie and that too hindi.

Also some typical hindi movie scenes which I wasn't expecting, I was following it as a different kind. My fault absolutely. Well, you can say it's somewhat a rehash of Kaabil in terms of revenge killing and plotting.

Best scene of the movie is the ending scene where Arya finally acknowledges Devki as her mother.
