Well when you unnecessarily shoot in the US the budget will balloon. The scene shot in the US didn't even require a foreign location.

Box Office: Mom grosses 26 crores at the worldwide box office

The Sridevi, Akshaye Khanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Mom released last week on Friday. The film which received rave reviews from the critics seems to have been liked by the audience as well. In fact despite its rather dark theme the business of Mom has seen a steady growth in collection since its release.

In this box office report we take a look at the worldwide gross collections of Mom that released across 1806 screens worldwide (domestic 1350 + overseas 456) has managed to rake in Rs. 20 cr gross within the domestic market and another Rs. 6.2 cr gross in the overseas market.

With this the total gross collections of Mom currently stands at Rs. 26.2 cr. Considering that the film still has an opened week ahead with little to no competition from other releases the overall collections of Mom are expected to grow as time progresses.

IM - Mr Sridevi has done some ghapla in budget. It can't be 50 Cr. Sri must have worked for free, they must not have paid much to Sajal and Adnan. Only Nawaz and Akki must have taken good fees, it can't be too much.

Sri must have done it for free (or had % as her remuneration in the contract). It's her home production.

Boney is a long time producer... he wouldn't put a huge budget for a semi-retired lead heroine and a dark theme. 😛 They would have thought of the economics well in advance to plan the release before and after a biggie like TL & JJ respectively.
