When you talk about Bollywood's box office, there is no actor bigger than Salman Khan. The crowd that Salman Khan manages to pull out every single time with his movies is absolutely second to none. Salman Khan's much awaited movie Tubelight released this past Friday and critics haven't been easy at all on him. The surprising part is that Tubelight was touted to make earth shattering records at box office as this is Eid time but it has massively underperformed.

Tubelight has managed to earn just Rs 83.86 crore in four days since its release which means Salman Khan isn't at all invincible while it comes to box office. Here are the three reasons why Salman Khan's Tubelight failed at box office.

Tubelight of the year.

Negative word of mouth:

The critics have bashed Salman Khan's Tubelight in every sense and it has disrupted the whole "Salman Khan movie" mood. The frenzy is not there to see as it is in case of Salman Khan movies. There is a sense of disappointment among the neutrals who went and didn't seem to like the movie at all. Taran Adarsh, box office analyst tweeted:

Shift of Indian viewers to the power of story:

It's not just about the star cast anymore. If a movie doesn't have a powerful story, it won't work anymore at box office. It was proved when Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani trumped Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale. Movies like Neerja and Hindi Medium have done tremendously well at box office.

Raja Sen, critic for NDTV Movies, rated the film one star and called Salman Khan the "worst thing" about it.

Tubelight is loosely based on the Hollywood film Little Boy and is directed by Kabir Khan. The Salman Khan-Kabir Khan combo seems to have failed this time.

Lack of action to woo the audience:

Salman Khan's Tubelight lacked the much needed action and high flying scenes which his fans generally go out for. Salman Khan has got it all wrong this time. Tubelight doesn't have the power which can emotionally drain you although Salman Khan tries his best at times but fails miserably. It lacks the cutting power action sequences and it is one of the major reasons why Salman Khan's Tubelight has failed at box office.
