For those people who are having hard time to digest the fact that TL's show was indeed cancelled, need to read this posting by ardent Salman fan

Being a Salman fan I never thought I will see this day. I booked a 6 pm show for Tubelight at nearby multiplex. When I reached their, I got to know that show is cancelled due to only 4-5 tickets sell. So they accommodated me to next show at 7 pm, which was 30-35 seats occupied.
Now the review :-
Movie was not typical Salman movie, I thought sohail was good in his role. Seeing Om Puri for one last time was nice. Chinese actress did well. Little kid was saving grace of the movie, his bonding with Salman was fun. Overall movie was little boring.

I liked some of the songs. "Faith" thing was stretched too far.

Salman was good, at least he tried something new. But script was poor.

Rest of the cast did their part well. Cinematography was excellent.

Main problem of movie is Kabir Khan. I think he was unsure about the final cut.

My rating :- 2.75/5

My neighbor who watched Tubelight, said it was good! I'm saying this because they are not a Salman fan.

Anyway, I'd say neither was an embarrassment.. like rasgulla said, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.. 😃

Jai Ho looked like a low budget Bhojpuri film... It still managed a good initial and even held it out for a few days before crashing
Tubelight is not just embarrassing, it is shocking

TBH before BV release it looked like a disaster...so it wasnt shocking. TL on the other hand I didnt expect anything below 200cr. You dont expect the person who is supposed to be the country's biggest superstar to release a film during his favorite release period and to no one turn up to watch his film.

Like it has been mentioned before, BV had a huge pre release negative hype surrounding it. I myself didn't bother watching it in a theater. And on top of that it was a below average movie, so it ended up being probably the biggest disaster of Bollywood in recent times.
That being said, TL is the bigger embarrassment because the expectations were sky high and it felt to deliver on any cylinder. Think of it like this, an out of form Sachin who wasn't scoring runs in the last 5 matches got out on a 0. Same scenario for BV. Now imagine Sachin scoring consecutive 100's in the world cups before getting out on a 0 in the finals. That's Tubelight for you. You can easily see which one would be more embarrassing/disappointing.
