its up to the individula to believe if the movie was a hit or not...

To base the movie as a hit or flop is always done by majority and majority of the ppl liked the movie...whihc is why Dhoom 2 earned so much in a few weeks of the movie!

Personally, i liked the movie...it was nice to watch...they say the movie is for those who a re young at heart...not generally young!

ya i agree with what most of the members have already said that every1 has a different choice...and personally even tho the movie didnt have much of a story line to it....it was one movie after a long time that i enjoyed from beginning to end and i actually thought it finished too early and it should have been a little more longer....and ya not all movie are suppose to teach a lesson or have some certain message about it...and it was just pure entertainment with good music, excellent stunts, hot looking ppl (sigh hrithik) and overall a really good movie which is why its already declared a super duper hit and may have chances of becoming an All Time Blockbuster

I do hope and believe u din't mean that those who disliked it are not young at heart.

being young at heart is not sufficient to appreciate a half-baed plot, cheesy lead female character with no depth to it, usage of teen lingo "LIKE" in every sentence by a 30 year old!🤢
I beg to differ. Accptance of something being young at heart and getting entertained by a juvenile fantasy are different things.
I really enjoy teletubbies instead because they suit the needs of audience they target 😊

not all teens do that....Teens can be smart, not all use the teen lingo, and act like wannabies😃

First and foremost,no one expected this to be a pathbreaking cinema, all that is expected of Dhoom are some adrenalin pumping moments, great action sequences, and if you go expecting for all this, you wouldnt be disappointed...Even the makers didnt project it as any revolutionary movie...We cant expect a RDB or a Munnabhai from every producer😛..Especially not from Yashraj, who have now mastered the art of making illogical, cliched, ludicrous and run of the mill movies which enjoy a good run at the Box-office as it caters to the ideologies of the masses and a niche audience....Dhoom didnt have a script, but who was looking forward to the "story" to begin with😆,people went to watch the stunts, the women, hrithik etc...Flipsides galore, infact the entire movie was sort of illogical and implausible😆🤢......How could hrithik disguise position himself amidst those statues, where that place has 24/7 surveillance, how could the statue move away and then disguise as a cleaner all in say 10 minutes' time(When JAi realizes that A wouldnt come to steal the necklace as its flawed,Aryan was still not done with moving the gadget out of the vicinity of the police scrutiny...Then Jai leaves pronto for the meseum, instructing Uday to be there to nab the thief...That would have taken JAi just 10 mins max,but by then ARyan had moved out of wall , put on another masquerade and was ready to leave...IMPLAUSIBLE!!)...aplenty such loopholes😆

1)The movie seemed to be compartmentalized....the first part was full on action and slickness, and the post interval part was made to be a typical insipid romantic masala film(Redeemed thankfully by Hrithik's screen presence ....It would have been much better had they spaced it out well 😕

2Hrithik-Ash love didnt burgeon in the most convincing way..Just a few scenes, and BINGO,they are in love 😕 ..Perhaps Aryan could have shown to take more time, more scenes

3)Bipasha's character was half baked...It seemed as though she was shoved into the script for the skin show and the bikini gimmick in Brazil 😕 ...She definitely looked hotter than Ash,but her Monali act was excruciating, and the Monali Ali liaison was insufferable 🤢

4)Aryan's character loses focus midway,He becomes this love crazed man, which I felt was a tad odd 😕

The high has worn off, when I think about the movie now,My heart goes out to ABhishek😭🤗...The director said that on paper,Hrithik's role was 55%,and the remaining 45% was to be shared by Bips, uday and Abhi, thus implying 15% for each of these😭...Uday and Bips atleast had an additional song,Abhi was given a raw deal....I admire him for taking this movie up,because very few actors are secure enough to allow their contemporary to bite into the author backed role, with themselves receeding to the background and being reduced to a mere sidekick!!...So I applaud his sense of security, but a big 👎🏼 for being the most non-chalent about his looks, that too when he shares the screen with someone as meticulous as Hrithik...Abhi could have atleast had a shave😡....I guess he took it too lightly, which is a crime,as it just shows his lack of intrest...his acting was just mediocre, and he sulked in most of the scenes, and there was a strong feeling of deja vu,especially as he has played this brooding police officer in many movies(Zameen,Dhoom 1,Dus etc)... Lack of screen time, half baked characterization with zilch novelty, bad clothes and a messy beard surely diminished his star value!!..He's got to pull up his socks and get into shape ASAP!!

U guys 😆 Dhoom2 was supposed to have been an out and out enterainer. No one in their right minds would have gone looking for a story and a script in this movie. The movie belongs to Hritik on a platter. 👏👏I am actually surprised that peopel say that Abhishekh's part was sidelined. Actually he had a very prominet role in the movie. I just feel that he messd it up because of his shoddy appearnce and very lazy acting. He just does not appear suave and quick like Hritik. Now lay the blame on the director, but this kind of beareded look has been a feature of Abhsishek's movies since Yuva. So we can't criticize the director for this. Jai Dizxiti's character required a very smooth and suave looking guy but unfortunately Abhisekh was obsesseed with replicating Big B's ANGRY Young man image on screen but alas failed. I can't get over his appearnce in the dock when he meets Ash and he has kajal in his eyes and is showing his vest and is wearing a flowery shirt that would suit some nautanki. This is the kind of apperance AB used to have in movies like Deewar or Suhhag but there he was playing a sadak chaap character so it suited him. But Abhishekh, seriously he needs lessons in dress sense.😕

I was actually craving for more Hritik scenes but was getting half baked scenes of Abhishekh, Udya and Bips combined. Bips in the first role was entirely wasted but the second was fine with me. Uday at least had the audience in splits. He and Abhsishekh more or less shared the same acreen time. I also refuse to buy the fact that Hritik had anymore than 45% of the entire screen time. The movie wouldn't have appeared so disjointed had they focused on Aryan's various master plans and thefts rather than focusing on other characters. I think Aditya lost track of what he wanted out of the movie when he wound up increasing the footage given to Uday and Abhsishekh just becasue it is their franchise.

Hritik has made a below average movie into an ALL time BLOCKBUSTER. That just speaks volumes about hia caliber and here we are accusing the dircetor for sidelining other actors. Minus Hritik this movie would have struggled to break even.

YES MA'm!!😃 I agree, I know a certain Buffie on IF who thinks maturity is over-rated, yet is very matured 😆

First and foremost,no one expected this to be a pathbreaking cinema.

Yet, I expected the plot to hold on. In Dhoom1, there was a SORT OF logical explanation to the robbery sequence and John Ab stayed true to his character. With the lovey dovey non-sense mid-way, the story lost it. I expected more from the story actually.

1)The movie seemed to be compartmentalized....the first part was full on action and slickness, and the post interval part was made to be a typical insipid romantic masala film(Redeemed thankfully by Hrithik's screen presence ....It would have been much better had they spaced it out well 😕

EXACTLY! that's what i found very annoying. Instead, in Dhoom 1, they introduced Esha as the surprise negative element and the latter part remained interesting.

2Hrithik-Ash love didnt burgeon in the most convincing way..Just a few scenes, and BINGO,they are in love 😕 ..Perhaps Aryan could have shown to take more time, more scenes

It looked like LUST 🤢 and it is disgusting.

😆😆😆 ROTFL @ That 😆😆😆

🤢 yepp!! 🤢

The high has worn off, when I think about the movie now,My heart goes out to ABhishek😭...

I know! I hope he is done playing the side kick. / supporting actor. With Yuva & Sarkar, where he actually was supporting, he had much more air time and role!

hehehe QT,I wasnt the one who said Maturity is overrated..I only said Abhishek Bachchan is overrated...Dr.Abhi put words into my mouth 😆...and ofcourse,I agree with what he said.... 😉

and did you notice,ABhi has been winning best supporting actor award for the last 3 consecutive years...For Yuva in 2004,Sarkarr in 2005,and mostly for KANK in 2006....WHenever is he going to win Best actor 😕 😭 😆

i beg to differ. Abhishek does justice to the roles he plays. He was excellent in Yuva, Sarkar, bluffmaster and KANK and has been a deserving recepient of a few acting awards. he also brings variety to the show.
