You should have just quoted me. Nvm.

I don't rate Farhan. DCH is his only good movie. Lakshya was okay and Don was a missed opportunity. SRK was so good in that movie. I just didn't think Farhan managed to do justice to the original Don or SRK's performance in that movie. It could have been so much bigger than a wanna-be Hollywood movie.

Farhan, for me, doesn't understand the nuances of Indian cinema. He's the kind of producer/director who'd say no to a movie like Bahubali because he has his own vision of cinema. His favorite movie of all-time is Raging Bull and he has grown up idolizing Hollywood. It's the same with these Akhtar siblings. Both do not understand the Indian style of storytelling. That's exactly why Farhan's movies, despite having someone as big as SRK, doesn't have universal appeal.

When Don released in 2006, SRK was #1. It wasn't even arguable. But that movie never clicked with the masses and was a Hit because of its multiplex appeal. With SRK, there are no boundaries. He's a star of the masses, the classes, everyone.

Then, Don 2 happened, which was such a poor movie. SRK should have never done it. I'd rather watch SRK in RaOne than in a pretentious movie like Don 2. Farhan tries to impose a conventional Hollywood narrative into Indian cinema. It's fine if you're making movies for Sundance, Venice, Cannes, etc., but when you're catering to SRK's fans and to Indian audiences, you can't be condescending or pretentious.

That's exactly why I admire someone like Imtiaz because he at least remains true to the Indian style of storytelling. I don't know what will happen with JHMS, but I know Imtiaz can engage us more than Farhan can. The same with Hirani, Kabir, SLB, Dibakar, etc.

Sachchi mein every year there is this Cry Wolf abt Don 3 😆

TM missed out a major portion of the news which says that Excel is making 2-3 other movies first and then they will start planning Don 3...but every year they say that 😆

Even director Farhan has not been finalized yet

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/videos/entertainment/hindi/don-3-story-finalised-announcement-coming-soon/videoshow/59224488.cms

"We are thinking about 'Don' (3) and we are thinking very hard on it. We have found the right idea, it's being written now. We will make an official announcement soon,"Ritesh said.

On the casting and if Farhan will return as directorfor the third part, Ritesh said, "Wait for the announcement." Meanwhile, Ritesh is happy with the line of upcoming films to be made under their banner.

"Farhan is just acting in 'Lucknow-Central', we are not producing the film. I have heard it, but it's (film) a good script and it's going to be really nice. We have 'Gold' and 'Fukrey 2'.

"We will start shooting for 'Gold' by the end of the month, while 'Fukrey 2' is ready and it is set to release on December 8, the trailer will be out soon," he said. 'Gold', starring Akshay Kumar, tells the story of India's first Olympic medal win as a free nation in 1948 at the 14th Olympics in London.

The Reema Kagti-directed film is set to release onAugust 15, 2018. Ritesh is also excited about their upcoming web seriestitled 'Inside Edge' and two other projects which are in the making.

"Right now we are concentrating on new subjects only as it's (digital world) a new market for us. Our next show is 'Mirzapur', an action drama set in UP."

One thing this needs is a proper villain, I'm sorry but Irani is a joke.

They should get an A lister in to play a villain, or maybe the police officer

This is one of the reasons I loved Don2, the action was realistic, like a Hollywood movie. Possibly the best action film in Bollywood in recent history for me.

I like Don only mainly because of Don and jungli billi. It will be a loss if PC won't be there.

Nayanthara & Anushka both played Roma's role in South remake s of Don. As casting PC is out of question now, I prefer these south actresses over bloated Kattu. Kajal Agarwal will also work for me.😳
