What Has happened to this guy???

Once upon a time I was a music aficionado, and then life got in the way and i stopped listening to pretty much anything. But recently I was watching tv after a long time, and somehow the music played on it did not speak to me at all, as music usually does, and i ended up watching my collection of old songs (rather the songs that i grew up on - i'm 30) and getting mesmerized by one voice that has never failed me - the voice of the Sonu Nigam. He was, and probably still is, one of the most versatile singers in our country. And so began my search for his new songs. I just assumed that there were hoards of them for me to listen to and rewind on, and surprise surprise.. there was not a single one. All i could come up with on my search was topics like, twitter fights, people trolling him, the azaan issue and currently some stupid insane comments like quitting twitter, quitting inida, quitting marriage, quitting the world.. etc.

Where did my sonu nigam go? The one voice that i used to listen to when i fell asleep. The one voice that got me through break ups and make ups. the one voice that had a song to my every mood. The one whose interviews i would listen to, coz even at that tender age, he was humble, down to earth and mesmerizing. The one whose concerts never failed to amaze.

Is it just that there came better singers (i find that hard to believe) or is our country not appreciating the talent that he has, or is he just not worth it anymore.

What do you guys feel??? Are you sailing in the same boat as i am?? I have been watching his live concerts on youtube for the past week and his talent is for all t see, but then why is it that we don't get to hear him anymore??

Am i missing something? would love to know more about what you guys think.

Just heard and saw Kill Dil Title song yesterday. I recognized Sonu Nigam's voice and was in awe and a bit saddened at the same time.

Anyway, it's Shankar M and Sonu Nigam and they are superb here, along with all involved in the picturization.

He is still a legend, that can't be taken away. Sad though.

Sonu Nigam's career was scuttled by music companies like Tseries and compounded by his fight with Subhash Goel who owns Zee Music.
Basically Sonu demands royalty as per the law of the land. But music companies refuse to pay him. Other singers are fine with this arrangement but Sonu has refused to compromise.
Zee Music has blacklisted Sonu because of the ego war between Goel and him.
