Fake news. The character was written with Prabhas in mind. All of the rest are fake too except for Sridevi being approached.

Some articles did emerge saying that Hrithik and John were approched to play in the Hindi version but Prabhas was a part of the Telugu/Tamil version since the very beginning.

Rajamouli and Prabhas were talking about Baahubali even during Magadheera time.

Regarding Sonam being approched for Devasena's role, it's quite possible because Tamannaah was casted latter on. Prabhas, Rana and Anushka were already trained and had filmed some portions already.

I think Sridevi turned down the role in favor of Puli because she wasn't satisfied with the money offered. I'm glad she did.

SSR clearly told he envisioned movie keeping Prabhas in mind and it was tailor mase for Prabhas only then how come it was offered to Hrithik?
