For example, I love Vidya Balan but Begam Jaan was utter trash, boring, poorly scripted and fairly horrendous storyline. I read some comments in facebook about how Indian audience hates strong women roles. hence Begam Jaan fail. While it is true, many section of Indian males have complex towards independent women, but a poorly made movie failure's blame to be thrown solely on Indian audience and its apparent misogyny is quite wrong.
I mean why always blame our audience for failure of female oriented movie? Especially when the movie was bad. I mean people are like Khan movies are bad still become hit, but there is a difference between being a badly made but entertaining escapade, and a badly made boring movie. I would rather watch a poorly made yet fun movie like Ready over a poorly made and boring movie like Noor. Does it mean I am a misogyny flag bearer who hated Noor because it has a strong female character/female solo lead. No I didn't liked Noor because it was bad and also boring. What does IF think about the question on "Should misogyny of Indian audience be declared the reason why female oriented movie while conveniently ignoring its appeal. quality and performance". Discuss, give points, don't fight.
