Looking at the picture previous page, especially of Devasena, I must mention that she had the best heroine introduction ever! I mean the slay the swag coupled with that amazing bgm, no other actress has ever received that kind of introduction before. #masslevel Even Amarendra introduction paled in comparison. SSR really made sure no one will pinpoint him again for shaping a weak female lead character. Devasena is truly the strongest female lead that has ever been written and how effortlessly S did that role! I rmb in the audio function, RJB mentioned to S that she is made for these Queen roles and that may she continue to do such roles for another 15 years and reign everyone hearts like a Queen. S is Queen of South Cinema truly 👏
She had a hero's entrance. 😉 Usually it is the heroine who falls in love with the hero while he's fighting goons, but here it's the hero who falls for the heroine's skills and prowess in warfare. What irony, and yet how beautifully they portrayed it without decreasing Amarendra's importance or masculinity.
Devasena's character is so intriguing because even when she's strong and fighting, she's still feminine. She embraced both her feminine and warrior side without compromising on either, in a way that Avantika wasn't able to. This isn't Avantika's fault, as her upbringing and role in the army was different, but it's not easy to write a female character like Devasena, in a way everyone would be able to relate to. 😳
Devasena had the gentility and affectionate nature of Sita, and the fierceness of Draupadi. She was the perfect amalgamation of a strong, independent yet loving woman.
