Finally watched the movie after two years of wait. Overall liked it but part one was better. I have a few questions like who were the rebel leader and Avantika? They never explained. What happened to Devasena's family?

I was also little disappointed with Sivagami. Her ego became important. Also I thought Sudeep's character will make a comeback.

The tribals were kind of followers of Amarendra who were vying to revenge Bhallala and rescue Devasena. Yes there was no proper explanation and it was just one scene in part 1. The entire Kuntala kingdom was burnt after AB's death. Mostly Avantika and co was just vehicle for Flashbacks and climax fight.

@Ranji- He liked it. Especially dialogues, Anushka and Humsa Naava picturization😆

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion - Langdon's Take
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017)
#SpoilerFreeTake

Why did Kattappa kill Bahubali? A question that continued to generate unprecedented amount of curiosity -- even after two long years. That's how impactful Rajamouli's ingenious cliffhanger was in 'Beginning', even though the movie as a whole wasn't all too bright. So, did Rajamouli succeed in meeting the expectations of the masses? Is it better than the beginning? I would say, yes, by miles -- in almost every department.

Unlike the first installment, which was mostly aimed at a South Indian audience but went onto become a gigantic pan-Indian success, it was interesting to see that Rajamouli took a conscious effort in minimizing the blatant amount of sexist or crass elements in its scripting -- usually seen to cater the typical Telugu sensibilities -- by a huge margin. Anushka's strong characterization here in contrast to Tamannah's poorly conceived characterization in the first part is the most prominent example for that.

More than the much anticipated reveal, what I found more impressive were those flashback portions featuring Amarendra Bahubali (Prabhas) and Devasena (Anushka), which packed quite a punch.

In terms of storytelling, action, music and technical aspects, again, the flashback portions stood out, where Rajamouli's wild imagination was running wild as always.

This time around, I convinced myself before watching it that I'm entering for a spectacle with the sensibilities of an Amar Chithra Katha tale where the hero can uproot a strong tree on his own and the villain can withstand the fall of that same tree just like that. And that did help a lot in enjoying most of its gravity defying moments. Thankfully, the amount of unintentional jokes too were minimal here unlike the first part. And thank heavens that the screen space given to Tamannah was very limited.

K.K. Senthilkumar's cinematography was riveting through every terrain it featured by complementing Sabu Cyril's excellent production design, which was as grand as it can get.

Keeravani's music was apt like the first part and his background score produces the right amount of adrenaline to make us engaged throughout in spite of having a running time that's just a quarter shy of three hours.

Even though the revenge part was decent, it somehow didn't have the alluring visual aesthetic that was celebrated in the flashback portions. The much touted reveal, as expected, turned out to be way too predictable. And seems like most of the portions other than the flashback was shot during the first part itself, as it had almost the same tacky issues in its VFX -- just like the first part.

Both Prabhas and Rana stays true to their over-the-top portrayals with their charisma and perfect body language. Ramya Krishnan -- just like the first part -- delivers yet another towering act that exudes royalty. Sathyaraj continues his good show. Anushka -- who often outshines Prabhas and looks like a Goddess as the most well-written character in this film, Devasena -- does full justice to her fierce and valiant portrayal while abiding by the grace and elegance of an aristocratical woman with such elan.

On the whole, an extravagant fairytale epic that topples the first part in many ways and delivers almost everything what the masses would want from such a visual spectacle.

7/10

One more question- When Kattapa was ordered to kill Bahubali why was he suddenly captured by those tribals? Or was it a trap?

It was a trap by balla to bring bahubali to murder place.Plus I think bhalla was doubting kattapa that if he would kill bahu soo he arranged that.

Saw the film today & totally in awe of it. I don't have words to praise this grand spectacle. There wasn't a single sec that would divert your attention anywhere else. A gripping storyline keeps you hooked to the seat . This wasn't a movie but an experience. Prabhas as amarendra was so good that you wish he existed in real life . He has given a performance of lifetime. I just loved him .his action sequences were so bloody awsum. He had immortalised Bahubali. He was just exceptional. Devasena was so beautiful. I loved her too & she did a fabulous job as the fiery princess. Her chemistry with amarendra was magical . Kattapa the actor was amazing too . He portrayed so many shades here . Bhallal Dev was a perfect devil for the story . I loved so many scenes that it's too difficult to mention them . The vfx were great . Hatts off to the entire team for this magnum opus which will be one of the most iconic film of Indian cinema. I can watch it again & again. It was 1000 times betters then part 1 which I wasn't too impressed with specially Avantika shiva scenes bored me too much . Our entire auditorium was whistling, clapping & chanting Bahubali through out the movie & hardly any vacant seat in the Audi even in a morning show .
