The scenes in which the fly troubles the main villain is awestrucking. The visual effects of the movie is also good at the same time. Eega was a flop in Hindi version, obviously as the Bollywood audience can't accept a fly as the hero of a movie.

Agree. Maybe audiences found it too weird? Or maybe they did not give it a chance even, by looking at trailers. I think South viewers and film-makers are more accepting of fantasy genre than Hindi viewers. some of the dubbed fantasy south movies which air, are really good.

🤣 ye apne dub karne walon ne title hi makkhi rakh diya kya?

😆 LOL, yes. Though Makkhi name was apt too. It is worth giving one chance of viewing at least. My mum watched it and ended up becoming one of those movies which we can watch again together.

plus, they don't show in theaters here.

Oh :( .. I wonder whether watching it online contributed to you not liking the film much.. Watching big-scale sometimes-verbose historicals on online low quality prints and audio without company never used to work for me.. But if the genre was something like Romcoms or typical action-entertainers I didnt mind...

Nah. Watched the first part on PC after seeing/hearing all the hype and great things. I didn't like it. Extremely overrated!

Well..first of all this is not a movie best watched online. The USP of the movie is VFX and the grandeur that needed to be watched on big screens. There is no story but the screenplay and the narration triumphs.
I would definitely watch the second part, because I really appreciate the effort put by the people and am amazed at the vision of the director.
For a regional movie, it is a huge risk to play with that budget.
Initially when they released in hindi j thought, it will flop badly and nobody will watch it. But they made it quite popular in national media, movie was successful, kept trending #wkkb
So it's all good, and wish the second part to be successful as well.

Yes! 😃

Big sucker for Indian mythology. Well, Baahubali is not exactly one but honestly the characters presented in the film look no less than demigods.

And I love OTT production styles and the music of the film. 😛

Well, I am obviously going to watch it in Telugu since it is my mother tongue (although I do understand Tamil too) .. and well, it would be kind of weird watching the Hindi dubbed version.. (although I probably understand Hindi better than Telugu lol)

Despite some issues, I loved the first part, and well, sure it is not some unique story (then again, there are hardly any "unique stories" anymore), But it had themes which were familiar and rooted in Indian tales, and it also incorporated all the flavors expected in South Indian films and well.. it is just nice to have historical fic film shot at such a scale that we can claim .. and it gives me hope that someday we can communicate the awesomeness of Mahabharat to the rest of the world lol...

@ Seeing the indian film industry make mahabharata has been a long standing dream of mine. But to pull off something like mahabharata will be a big, big challenge given how deeply the epic is imbued in indian culture. They would need to combine the best talents from north, south, east and west...

But yes, hopefully someday...😊
