Not all females are the self sacrificing type or do we want to be. I am female, not patient, things and people annoy me, but I try to have empathy and try not to be arrogant but I don't succeed all the time. I also take pride in being strong and independent. What does that make me ? A person IMO with flaws just trying to lead a good life and succeeding and failing at different times.

I think JMS meant ideally it should be such

what ur defining is the individuality.
if a person is doormat or if a person is jhansi ki rani is the individuality.
both femininity n masculinity by defintions requires that we are perfectly perfect.
its like based on theory of idealism .bt individuality is based on practical scopes
limitations in short environment n time dependent.if at this age an educated girl
is ordered to do Sati n she defies it does nt mean she loved her husband any less..
bt then u may find another woman who will submissively follow the unthinkable
that also u can not say as doormat attitude..we can only say it is the individuality
that prevails.

Unlike femininity, relaxed masculinity is at bottom empty, a limp nullity. while the female body is full of internal potentiality, the man is internal barren. manhood at the most basic level can be validated and expressed only in action.

what's intriguing is that that part of the new masculinity, or m-ness is man's recognition that he needs a woman. This realization comes , ironically , during the era of female independence , a time when man can be replaced by boy toys , female lovers , abstinence and even vibrators,.. Wheres man still need woman, their traditional source of comfort and inspiration, woman are increasingly less likely to feel the same about men. and that's changing everything about the rules of game.

Not really. People need companions for life regardless of the gender. Some people might want to stay single & alone but they make for such a small section of people.
Vibrators, boy toys etc are probably in demand these days but so have been female hookers, for years. I don't understand how you came to the conclusion that women are replacing husbands/BFs by vibrators.

If anyone thinks a girl needs to do Sati in this day and age to prove anything, her bitchy nature better come out, not doormat attitude. And yes, it is beyond doormat if anyone coerces you to do Sati. sorry. Not individual attitude.

i think i could nt explain to u properly that femininity is nt being vocal or non vocal.
n individuality is having the strength to differentiate between the right n wrong
n accordingly react to the situation based on the inner mentality to protest or surrender.
to be lead or to lead is the choice of an individual alone.

Completely agree with this. I don't like stereotyping arrogance or anger for example as a male quality because then it is excused, but in a female it is supposed to be a bad thing. If a man is patient and accommodating he is spoken of derogatorily as if that is a bad thing. Why ? That makes him a nicer person ? This is typical of patriarchal societies. People are individuals. Gender does not dictate our qualities IMO.
